Ultrasound of the urological profile
Ultrasound of the urological profile

Urological ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic examination that allows assessment of the urinary system and male reproductive organs using ultrasound imaging. The method is widely used to detect inflammatory, structural, and functional abnormalities and is applied both at the stage of primary diagnosis and for treatment follow-up.

When is a urological ultrasound required?

The examination is indicated for pain in the lower back and lower abdomen, urinary disorders, abnormal urinalysis results, suspected inflammatory processes, stones, or neoplasms, as well as during preventive check-ups. In men, ultrasound is performed in the presence of complaints related to the prostate gland and scrotal organs.

How is the examination performed?

Depending on the clinical task, ultrasound examination of the kidneys, urinary bladder, prostate gland (transabdominal or transrectal), and scrotal organs may be performed. The procedure is painless, does not require complex preparation (except for certain types of examinations), and takes a limited amount of time. The results are interpreted by a physician in conjunction with clinical data and other diagnostic findings.
