The State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Center ‘Mother and Child’ of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus” is a modern and unique medical center serving as the national referral institution in the Republic of Belarus for obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology, pediatrics, and medical genetics.

Fetal Surgery

Since 2008, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Mother and Child” has successfully performed minimally invasive fetal surgery. In 2023, a dedicated Department of Fetal Surgery was established, providing high-tech intrauterine surgical interventions for a wide range of fetal diseases and conditions, including:

• Rh alloimmunization with signs of fetal anemia (hemolytic disease of the fetus);
• non-immune hydrops fetalis caused by Parvovirus B19 infection;
• idiopathic non-immune hydrops fetalis;
• twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) (up to 25–26 weeks of gestation);
• twin reversed arterial perfusion (TRAP) sequence;
• fetal cardiac arrhythmias (persistent tachycardia or bradycardia);
• life-incompatible congenital malformations or chromosomal abnormalities affecting one fetus in multiple pregnancies requiring selective fetal reduction before 21 weeks of gestation;
• benign fetal and placental masses (large cysts of various origins and locations, sacrococcygeal teratoma, large and giant cystic hygroma, chorioangioma);
• congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH);
• fetal hydrocephalus;
• myelomeningocele (spina bifida);
• lower urinary tract obstruction (LUTO), megacystis, and grade III–IV hydronephrosis.

Obstetric Care

The Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Mother and Child” provides the full spectrum of high-tech obstetric care, combining the traditions of classical obstetrics with the latest advances in perinatal medicine. Women with high-risk pregnancies, severe obstetric and gynecological conditions, and significant extragenital diseases receive specialized care that provides them with the opportunity to experience motherhood.

Inpatient care is provided in enhanced-comfort hospital rooms. Both expectant mothers and newborns receive attentive, compassionate, and highly specialized care from the very first moments of life.

Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART)

The “Mother and Child” Center offers patients the opportunity to become parents even in particularly challenging clinical situations. Since 2006, the Department of Assisted Reproductive Technologies has been providing infertility treatment using modern ART techniques. Our specialists have completed professional training at leading fertility centers in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Spain, and Sweden.

Our physicians are members of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Russian Association of Human Reproduction (RAHR), and the Belarusian Society of Reproductive Medicine.

Gynecology

The Department of Gynecology provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services aimed at preserving women's reproductive health and restoring fertility in patients with infertility.

Advanced laparoscopic and laser-assisted surgical techniques have been implemented. The department performs reconstructive surgery for congenital anomalies of the female reproductive organs using laparoscopy, hysteroscopic resection, and ultrasound-guided technologies, as well as reconstructive procedures for pelvic organ prolapse. Simultaneous (combined) surgical procedures for patients with multiple coexisting conditions are routinely performed using state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Another important area of activity is the provision of specialized, including high-tech, gynecological care for girls with congenital and acquired disorders of the reproductive system.

Neonatology and Pediatrics

Treatment of full-term and preterm newborns, infants, and comprehensive medical evaluation of children up to 18 years of age.

Specialized medical care is provided for children from birth to five years of age with neurological disorders and inherited diseases.

Cell therapy for neurodevelopmental disorders using the biomedical cell product “Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stromal Cells.”

Diagnostic Imaging and Functional Diagnostics

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), ultrasonography, prenatal ultrasound, fetal echocardiography at various stages of pregnancy, rheographic examinations for adults and children from the age of three, Holter ECG monitoring, and electromyography (EMG).

Medical Genetics

Invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures, including chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, cordocentesis, cytogenetic testing, diagnosis of inherited metabolic disorders, and mass spectrometry–based diagnostic testing.
