Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology

The State Institution Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Children's Oncology, Hematology and Immunology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus is a unique children's medical center created through the joint efforts of the Belarusian and Austrian governments.

Saving the life of a little person, giving them the opportunity to grow up healthy – this is how the Center’s employees see the meaning of their work. The institution specializes in providing medical care to children under 18 with oncological, hematological diseases and congenital immunodeficiencies, as well as adults under 29 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Every year of the Center’s activity means new professional and scientific achievements in the fight for the health of its patients:

• 1998. The Center becomes the leading medical institution in the Republic of Belarus for transplantation of bone marrow and peripheral stem cells in children. Currently, it performs up to 100 transplants per year.
• 2002. Occupies a leading position in the diagnosis of primary immunodeficiency states in children.
• 2009. A bank for storing umbilical cord blood cells is created and is actively operating.
• 2012. The Center was awarded the status of the Jeffrey Modell International Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Immunodeficiencies, which unites more than 50 centers in Europe and the USA.

The search for a donor in case of unrelated transplantation is carried out in the International Bank of Bone Marrow Donors. The center cooperates with oncological and hematological centers of Russia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Japan. The center's employees regularly undergo internships in clinics in Austria, England, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA.
