Treatment of pulpitis
Treatment of pulpitis

Pulpitis is inflammation of the soft tissues of the tooth (dental pulp), accompanied by acute pain and potentially leading to tooth loss if timely treatment is not provided. Modern methods make it possible to effectively eliminate inflammation, preserve the tooth, and prevent the development of complications.

When is treatment of pulpitis required?

  • If severe, throbbing tooth pain occurs, especially at night.
  • In cases of increased tooth sensitivity to hot and cold stimuli.
  • If tooth pain arises without obvious causes and persists for a long time.
  • If a previously treated tooth begins to cause discomfort.

How is the treatment performed?

  1. Diagnostics – the dentist performs a clinical examination and obtains radiographic imaging or computed tomography to assess the condition of the root canals.
  2. Anesthesia – local anesthesia is administered to ensure comfortable treatment.
  3. Removal of inflamed pulp – the dentist cleans the root canals and removes affected tissues.
  4. Canal disinfection – treatment with antiseptic solutions to eliminate infection.
  5. Root canal filling – obturation using special sealing materials.
  6. Tooth restoration – placement of a temporary or permanent filling, and in cases of significant destruction, a crown.
