Cystotomy
Cystotomy

Cystotomy is a surgical procedure aimed at removing a cyst in the area of a tooth.

When is cystotomy required?

  • In the presence of a large cyst exerting pressure on adjacent tissues.
  • If the cyst interferes with tooth eruption, especially in children and adolescents.
  • In cases where complete removal of the cyst (cystectomy) is not possible without risk to the tooth.
  • In cystic lesions causing deformation of bone tissue.
  • When preservation of a tooth affected by a cyst is required.

How is the procedure performed?

  1. Diagnostics – the dentist performs radiographic imaging or computed tomography to assess the size and location of the cyst.
  2. Anesthesia – local anesthesia is administered to ensure full patient comfort.
  3. Surgical access – the dentist makes an incision in the gingiva and removes the anterior wall of the cyst.
  4. Creation of communication with the oral cavity – the cyst is partially opened, allowing the fluid to drain naturally.
  5. Healing and follow-up – the patient receives care recommendations, and a follow-up examination is performed after a certain period.

Why undergo cystotomy in Belarus?

  • Allows preservation of the tooth when complete cyst removal is not possible.
  • Less traumatic than cystectomy.
  • Reduces the risk of recurrence and inflammatory processes.
  • Rapid recovery due to minimal surgical intervention.
  • Minimal postoperative pain and discomfort.

The procedure is performed in leading dental clinics in Belarus using modern surgical techniques. Highly qualified specialists ensure accurate execution of the procedure, pain-free treatment, and rapid patient recovery.
