Treatment of Raynaud's syndrome
Treatment of Raynaud's syndrome

Raynaud’s syndrome is a functional disorder of vascular regulation in which episodes of spasm of small arteries occur, most often in the fingers and toes. This leads to pallor, bluish discoloration, pain, and sensory disturbances. The syndrome may exist as an independent condition or be a manifestation of other connective tissue diseases.

When is treatment required?

Treatment is required in cases of frequent and pronounced episodes of vascular spasm, pain, numbness, changes in skin color of the fingers, as well as when trophic disturbances develop. Indications for therapy include progression of symptoms and suspicion of a secondary form of the syndrome.

How is treatment carried out?

Treatment of Raynaud’s syndrome is aimed at reducing the frequency and severity of vascular spasms and improving microcirculation. Pharmacological therapy is selected individually, taking into account the form of the condition and the presence of comorbidities. Dynamic follow-up, correction of risk factors, and recommendations to avoid provoking triggers play an important role. When necessary, treatment of the underlying disease that caused the syndrome is carried out.
