Varada miniphlebectomy

Varadi miniphlebectomy is a minimally traumatic surgical procedure for removing varicose veins through micro-incisions. The method is widely used in the treatment of varicose vein disease, demonstrates high effectiveness, and does not require prolonged recovery.

When is miniphlebectomy indicated?

  • In the presence of localized varicose nodes that are not suitable for sclerotherapy.
  • In cases of cosmetic defects caused by varicose vein enlargement.
  • When trophic skin changes develop due to chronic venous insufficiency.
  • As an adjunct to other varicose vein treatments (endovenous laser coagulation, radiofrequency ablation).
  • If the patient prefers a minimally invasive removal of varicose veins without large incisions.

How is the procedure performed?

  1. Diagnosis and preparation – duplex ultrasound scanning of the veins and routine blood tests are performed.
  2. Anesthesia – local anesthesia is used.
  3. Removal of varicose veins – through micro-incisions (2–3 mm), the physician extracts the affected veins using special hooks.
  4. Minimal tissue trauma – sutures are not required; sterile adhesive strips are applied.
  5. Postoperative recovery – the patient is advised to wear compression stockings and follow a gentle activity regimen.
