Correction with fillers
Correction with fillers

Dermal filler correction is an aesthetic procedure aimed at restoring volume, smoothing wrinkles, and improving facial contours through the use of gel-based injectable fillers. The most commonly used fillers are based on hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in the skin and is responsible for its hydration and firmness. Other types of fillers are also used, including collagen-based products, poly-L-lactic acid fillers, and calcium hydroxyapatite fillers.

Fillers are used to correct various facial areas, including the lips, nasolabial folds, cheekbones, chin, jawline, as well as to smooth fine and deep wrinkles. They help restore a youthful appearance, create more defined and harmonious facial features, and correct age-related changes.

Indications for dermal filler correction

  1. Smoothing wrinkles and folds. Nasolabial folds. Perioral wrinkles (such as “marionette lines”). Wrinkles at the outer corners of the eyes (“crow’s feet”).
  2. Lip augmentation. Adding volume, correcting asymmetry, creating more defined contours, and improving hydration.
  3. Cheekbone and chin correction. Restoring volume in the cheek area to achieve a more youthful and lifted appearance. Enhancing chin shape and creating a more defined jawline.
  4. Facial contour correction. Restoration of clear facial contours and lifting of sagging tissues.
  5. Nose shape correction (non-surgical rhinoplasty). Smoothing the nasal bridge, refining the nasal tip, and correcting asymmetry.
  6. Correction of hollow areas. Restoring volume in the temporal region or under the eyes to reduce hollows and dark circles.

Results and their duration

  1. When is the result visible? The effect of dermal fillers is visible immediately after the procedure, although mild swelling or redness may be present and typically resolves within a few days.
  2. How long does the effect last? The duration of the result depends on the type of filler used, the treated area, and individual patient characteristics. Hyaluronic acid–based fillers usually last from 6 months up to 2 years. In areas with high muscle activity (such as the lips), the effect tends to be shorter than in areas with lower mobility (cheekbones, chin).

Advantages of dermal filler correction

  1. Minimal recovery period. Patients can return to normal daily activities almost immediately. Mild swelling and redness usually subside within hours or a few days.
  2. Immediate results. The visible effect right after the procedure makes fillers an ideal option for rapid facial rejuvenation and aesthetic enhancement.
  3. Minimally invasive. Filler injections do not require surgical intervention or general anesthesia.
  4. Versatility. Fillers are used to smooth wrinkles, augment lips, enhance cheekbones, chin, jawline, and perform non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Post-procedure care

  1. Avoid physical exertion. During the first 24–48 hours, it is recommended to refrain from sports and intense physical activity.
  2. Do not touch or massage the face. To prevent filler displacement, avoid touching treated areas.
  3. Avoid heat exposure. For several days after the procedure, do not visit saunas, steam baths, or take hot baths.
  4. Sun protection. Protect the skin from sun exposure to reduce the risk of pigmentation.
