Rehabilitation of patients with neurological pathologies
Rehabilitation of patients with neurological pathologies

Patients with neurological disorders (radiculitis, peripheral nerve injuries) require special attention when developing a comprehensive rehabilitation program, as the consequences of these conditions may include:

  1. difficulties with independent mobility,
  2. impaired hand function,
  3. speech disorders developing in many patients.

Similar consequences may also occur after previous strokes and cerebral infarctions.

The main rehabilitation measures are aimed at:

  • reducing the severity of these manifestations,
  • slowing disease progression,
  • decreasing the frequency of potential complications,
  • increasing tolerance to physical activity,
  • improving quality of life.

A comprehensive rehabilitation program is developed individually for each patient with neurological pathology. In this area, the primary rehabilitation method is therapeutic physical training combined with mechanotherapy.

Individually selected exercises performed on modern rehabilitation equipment help relax spastic muscles, increase the range of motion in joints and the spine, and improve coordination. Speech correction is carried out by an experienced speech therapist.

The intensity of pain can be reduced through massage therapy (acupressure, lymphatic drainage massage, segmental massage, limb massage). In addition, massage improves lymphatic and blood circulation, reduces joint mobility restrictions, and decreases muscle spasticity.

Hardware-based physiotherapy (physiotherapeutic treatment, PTT) is also an integral part of rehabilitation for patients with this condition, as it allows:

  • improvement of cerebral tissue blood supply,
  • reduction of trophic disorders,
  • normalization of muscle tone,
  • enhancement of the anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous effects of medications,
  • reduction of adhesion formation.

The consistent, individualized alternation of different physiotherapeutic modalities makes it possible to achieve high rehabilitation outcomes.

The most effective and commonly used physiotherapy methods include:

  • electrical stimulation,
  • impulse current therapy,
  • exposure to visible and infrared radiation,
  • electrophoresis,
  • darsonvalization,
  • ultratone therapy,
  • balneotherapy and mud therapy.

To restore self-care and daily living skills, occupational therapy is used, which includes:

  • sensorimotor training,
  • sensory training,
  • fine motor skills training,
  • mobility and transfer training.

Individual therapeutic approaches provided by a psychotherapist and psychologist help reduce anxiety and lack of self-confidence, support patient motivation, and promote a positive outlook on recovery and future life.

Qualified specialists in motor rehabilitation (instructors and therapeutic exercise specialists) help restore impaired self-care skills, select assistive rehabilitation devices (canes, crutches, walkers, etc.), and adapt patients to walking with these aids.

Regular diagnostic examinations allow assessment of the patient’s recovery dynamics. Particularly relevant for these disorders are electroneuromyography and stabilometric studies using evoked potentials.

After discharge from the rehabilitation center, patients receive recommendations for step-by-step rehabilitation to be performed at home, enabling a faster return to an active and habitual lifestyle.

The cost of accommodation with meals ranges from USD 27 to 35 per day, depending on the room category. Diagnostic procedures, medication therapy, physiotherapy treatments, and consultations with specialized physicians are paid separately.
