MRI 3 Tesla is a high-field magnetic resonance imaging study performed on a scanner with a magnetic field strength of 3 Tesla. Compared to 1.5 Tesla systems, this method provides higher spatial and contrast resolution, allowing for highly detailed images of anatomical structures and detection of minimal pathological changes.

Diagnostic capabilities

The high magnetic field strength improves the signal-to-noise ratio, increasing the accuracy of tissue visualization. This is particularly important for examinations of the central nervous system, musculoskeletal system, blood vessels, and internal organs. The method is widely used in complex diagnostic cases, as well as for clarification and confirmation of previously obtained findings.

Indications for MRI 3 Tesla

  • diseases of the brain and spinal cord;
  • demyelinating processes and neurodegenerative diseases;
  • tumors and space-occupying lesions;
  • pathology of the spine and intervertebral discs;
  • diseases of joints and soft tissues;
  • vascular pathology (MR angiography);
  • monitoring disease progression and treatment effectiveness.

How the examination is performed

  1. In most cases, no special preparation is required. Before the procedure, a standard screening is carried out to exclude contraindications related to metallic implants, pacemakers, or electronic devices.
  2. The patient lies on the MRI table. During scanning, it is necessary to remain still, as movement reduces image quality. The duration of the examination depends on the scanned area and the selected protocol and usually ranges from 20 to 40 minutes.
  3. The obtained data are analyzed by a radiologist. The high image resolution allows accurate assessment of tissue structure, detection of early changes, and performance of differential diagnosis.

Метод особенно информативен при исследовании головного и спинного мозга, суставов, связок, позвоночника, органов малого таза, а также при онкологической диагностике и оценке сосудов (МР-ангиография).

В среднем процедура занимает от 20 до 40 минут, в зависимости от области исследования и необходимости контрастирования.
