MRI of the abdominal organs
MRI of the abdominal organs

MRI of the abdominal organs is a non-invasive and highly accurate diagnostic method that allows detailed visualization of the liver, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, kidneys, and adrenal glands. This technique is used to detect inflammatory, oncological, and degenerative diseases without the use of ionizing (X-ray) radiation.

When is MRI of the abdominal organs required?

The examination is indicated in cases of abdominal pain of unclear origin, suspected tumors, cysts, or inflammatory processes. MRI is widely used for diagnosing liver diseases (hepatitis, cirrhosis, hemangiomas), biliary tract disorders (cholestasis, gallstones), pancreatic conditions including pancreatitis and tumors, as well as splenic pathologies. In oncology, MRI is performed when primary cancer or metastatic lesions of internal organs are suspected.

How is the examination performed?

The patient is positioned inside a magnetic resonance imaging scanner, where the abdominal cavity is examined. In some cases, a contrast agent is administered to enhance visualization of tumors and vascular structures. The procedure takes approximately 30–45 minutes, is painless, and does not involve radiation exposure.

Main advantages of MRI of the abdominal organs in Belarus

High-resolution imaging of soft tissues with the ability to detect tumors and inflammatory changes at early stages. Safety due to the absence of X-ray radiation. Comprehensive evaluation of internal organs without the need for surgical intervention.

Medical centers in Belarus are equipped with modern MRI systems that provide accurate diagnostics of abdominal diseases. Experienced specialists perform the examinations and deliver detailed and reliable interpretation of the results.
