Rheoencephalography (REG)
Rheoencephalography (REG)

Rheoencephalography (REG) is a non-invasive diagnostic method used to assess the condition of cerebral blood vessels, allowing evaluation of their tone, elasticity, and blood supply. The examination is applied to detect disorders of cerebral circulation and to assess the risk of stroke.

When is rheoencephalography required?

In cases of frequent headaches, dizziness, tinnitus, memory impairment, and syncope. It is used in the diagnosis of cerebrovascular diseases (atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, migraines, autonomic dysfunction). The method is applied to assess the consequences of traumatic brain injury, stroke, and increased intracranial pressure. It is also indicated when vascular spasms or impaired venous outflow are suspected.

How is the examination performed?

Special electrodes are placed on the patient’s head to record fluctuations in vascular tone. The procedure lasts 15–30 minutes and is performed at rest without special preparation.

Main advantages of rheoencephalography in Belarus

Safety, absence of radiation exposure, and non-invasiveness. High diagnostic accuracy for detecting cerebral vascular disorders. Rapid performance and the possibility of dynamic monitoring of vascular condition.

Belarusian medical centers are equipped with modern diagnostic equipment that allows REG to be performed with high accuracy. Experienced specialists analyze the results and provide treatment recommendations.
