CT of vessels (CT angiography)
CT of vessels (CT angiography)

CT angiography is a high-precision diagnostic method that allows detailed visualization of arteries and veins, enabling the detection of aneurysms, stenoses, thrombosis, and other vascular pathologies. The examination is performed using a contrast agent, which provides clear imaging of the vascular network.

When is CT angiography required?

The examination is indicated for dizziness, fainting episodes, chest pain, and circulatory disorders. It is used in cases of suspected aneurysms, thrombosis, vascular stenosis, atherosclerosis, and varicose veins. CT angiography is also applied in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease, pulmonary embolism, and vascular malformations, as well as during preparation for surgical procedures, stenting, or bypass surgery.

How is the examination performed?

A contrast agent is administered intravenously, after which layered scanning of the vessels is performed using a computed tomography scanner. The procedure lasts 10–30 minutes, is painless, and requires minimal preparation (patients may be advised to avoid coffee and smoking before the examination).

Main advantages of CT angiography in Belarus

High-resolution visualization of blood vessels with the ability to detect pathology at early stages. Rapid examination that serves as an alternative to invasive angiography. The possibility of 3D reconstruction of the vascular network for accurate diagnosis.

Belarusian medical centers are equipped with modern CT scanners that ensure accurate diagnosis of vascular pathologies. Experienced specialists perform the examination with detailed interpretation of the results.
