CT scan of the lungs
CT scan of the lungs

Lung CT is a high-precision diagnostic method that allows detailed visualization of lung tissue, bronchi, blood vessels, and pleura. The method is used to detect inflammatory, oncological, vascular, and fibrotic diseases.

When is a lung CT scan required?

The examination is indicated in cases of prolonged cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, and suspected pneumonia or tuberculosis. Lung CT is used to diagnose tumors, metastases, fibrotic changes, and pneumothorax. It is also performed to detect pulmonary embolism, congenital anomalies, and post-COVID-19 lung changes, as well as for preoperative assessment and monitoring of treatment dynamics.

How is the examination performed?

The patient is positioned in a computed tomography scanner, where layer-by-layer imaging of the lungs is performed. In some cases, a contrast agent is used to enhance visualization of blood vessels and pathological changes. The procedure takes approximately 10–20 minutes, is painless, and requires minimal preparation.

Main advantages of lung CT in Belarus

High diagnostic accuracy for lung diseases, with the ability to detect pathologies at early stages. Rapid examination and suitability for emergency diagnostics. The possibility of 3D reconstruction of lung tissue and vascular structures.

Belarusian medical centers are equipped with modern computed tomography systems that ensure accurate diagnosis of lung diseases. Experienced specialists perform examinations with detailed interpretation of results.
