CT scan of the chest
CT scan of the chest

Chest CT scan is a high-precision diagnostic method that allows visualization of the lungs, heart, pleura, bronchi, trachea, blood vessels, and ribs. The examination is used to detect inflammatory, oncological, vascular, and degenerative diseases.

When is a chest CT scan required?

The examination is indicated for persistent cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, and suspected pneumonia or tuberculosis. It is performed to diagnose lung tumors, metastases, and pleural pathologies. Chest CT is also used to detect pulmonary embolism, aneurysms, and atherosclerosis, as well as in cases of chest trauma, rib fractures, and internal bleeding.

How is the examination performed?

The patient is positioned in a computed tomography scanner, where layered imaging of the chest is performed. In some cases, a contrast agent is administered to improve visualization of blood vessels and soft tissues. The procedure takes approximately 10–20 minutes, is painless, and requires minimal preparation.

Main advantages of chest CT in Belarus

High-resolution imaging of the lungs, heart, blood vessels, and bony structures. Rapid examination with the possibility of emergency diagnostics. The option of 3D reconstruction for accurate identification and assessment of pathological changes.

Belarusian medical centers are equipped with modern computed tomography scanners that provide accurate diagnosis of chest diseases. Experienced specialists perform the examination with detailed interpretation of the results.
