N. N. Alexandrov National Cancer Centre of Belarus

The State Institution "Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Oncology and Medical Radiology named after N.N. Aleksandrov" is the leading oncology institution which provides a full range of diagnostic, treatment and educational services. It is the country’s largest medical institution.

Since 2001, the Center has undergone continuous modernization. New clinical buildings have been put into operation and equipped with progressive diagnostic and treatment technologies.

In 2015, a new facility building of the Republican Molecular Genetic Laboratory of Carcinogenesis and the Republican Center of Positron Emission Tomography were opened. The laboratory's equipment complies with the highest international standards, enabling advanced research.

The Center has developed and implemented unique methods of treatment with no analogues in the CIS countries and the world, such as:

1. General hyperthermia of common forms of cancer diseases;
2. Photodynamic therapy for precancerous diseases of the female reproductive system.

The Center’s team includes 22 Doctors of Medical Sciences, 75 Candidates of Medical and Biological Sciences, 11 professors, 1 corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

High international recognition of the Center is confirmed by numerous awards:

• "European Quality" (awarded in 2009);
• Since 2014, the State Institution "RNPC of Oncology and Medical Radiology named after N.N. Aleksandrov" has been a member of the international organization "Union for International Cancer Control" (UICC);
• Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko "For Spiritual Revival" (received in 2017);
• "For Outstanding Achievements in Cooperation in the Development of Joint Cancer Control Programs in the Euro-Asian Region" (awarded in 2018).

The Center is equipped with advanced technologies which allow specialists to establish a diagnosis in the most complicated cases within the shortest possible time. Each year, the Center performs about 1 million different diagnostic and laboratory tests, and more than 10,000 operations. Patients from different countries receive treatment at the Centre: the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Libya, the USA, Great Britain, Venezuela, Iraq, etc.
