Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology

The State Institution “Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Children's Oncology, Hematology and Immunology” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus is a specialized pediatric medical center established through the joint efforts of the governments of Belarus and Austria.

The Center’s mission is to save children’s lives and give them the opportunity to grow up healthy. The institution provides highly specialized care for patients under 18 years of age with oncological and hematological diseases and congenital immunodeficiencies, as well as for young adults under 29 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Over the years of its activity, the Center has achieved significant professional and scientific milestones in the fight for the health of patients:

• 1998. The Center becomes the leading medical institution in the Republic of Belarus for in pediatric bone marrow and peripheral stem cell transplantation and currently performs up to 100 transplants annually.
• 2002. Occupies a leading position in the diagnostics of primary immunodeficiencies in children.
• 2009. A bank for storing umbilical cord blood cells is created and is actively operating.
• 2012. The Center was awarded the status of the Jeffrey Modell International Center for the Diagnostics and Treatment of Primary Immunodeficiencies, joining more than 50 centers in Europe and the USA.

In case of unrelated donor transplantation, the donor search is conducted through the International Bank of Bone Marrow Donors. The center cooperates with oncological and hematological centers of Russia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Japan. The center's employees regularly undergo professional trainings in clinics in Austria, England, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA.
