Treatment of undifferentiated arthritis
Treatment of undifferentiated arthritis

Undifferentiated arthritis is an inflammatory joint disease in which clinical and laboratory signs of arthritis are present but do not fully meet the criteria for a specific rheumatologic diagnosis. The condition may represent an early stage of rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, or follow an independent course; therefore, it requires early and careful treatment.

When is treatment required?

Treatment is required in cases of persistent joint pain and swelling, morning stiffness, limited mobility, and increased fatigue. Symptoms may persist for more than several weeks and be accompanied by inflammatory changes in blood tests. Early therapy is particularly important to prevent progression to a chronic disease.

How is treatment carried out?

Treatment strategy is aimed at suppressing inflammation and controlling symptoms. Anti-inflammatory drug therapy is used, and if necessary, disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs are prescribed. Dynamic follow-up with regular assessment of clinical findings and laboratory parameters plays an important role. Physiotherapy and therapeutic exercise are additionally used to preserve joint function.
